Binary package hint: update-manager
Update Manager icon popped up indicating there were updates (32 of them)
applicable to my system. They downloaded fine, but the package
information could not be initialized. The "Could not initialize" window
asked to report this bug and included the following error message:
'E:Encountered a section with no Package: header, E:Problem with
MergeList /var/lib/dpkg/status, E:The package lists or status file could
not be parsed or opened.'
Of course, I expected not to have the updating halted.
