I think I had the same problem the start up progress bar with ubuntu logo was not looking "pretty" I tried changing different settings in xorg.conf but no change. Then I looked at usplash.conf and it was set to 1900x1200 thinking this was the problem I reduced it to 1600x1200 no change, but then I changed it to 1280x1024 and that solved the problem.
I am thinking that the problem could be that xorg.conf does not support the higher resolution or something so the splash image will be a different resolution then the xorg base (or something), lines will thus wraparound distorting the image. attached xorg.conf usplash.conf is just: xres=1280 yres=1024 ** Attachment added: "xorg.conf" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/20466416/xorg.conf -- Ubuntu splash screen forces 640x480 resolution https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/104079 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
