Public bug reported:
installed the 709-MB version (DVD) of Feisty from 06-12-04 (also today
06-12-05= 12.00 UTC).
After starting the DVD and preparing my Ethernet, then got my updates (17 i
think) all went fine - except starting my Mac (Dual-G5, OS-X.3.9 + separate
disk for ubuntu) : like it was also before in Edgy : after starting with
ALT-key (or = opt-key) the disk-icons come up; then selecting the Feisty-disk
and start with "Return"-key only the icons get worse (a little bit like inverse
picture, background normal-blue) nothing else happens. The same, when starting
without pressing any key : The selection - menu: "l" for Linux / "X" for OS-X
/ ? C for CD come up ; selecting X all goes normal - selecting "l" the wrong
icons are shown. With Dapper on this machine all was ok (but WLAN didn't work
as of lack of BCM43xx) . On my iBook-G4 Feisty runs without problem*, but like
on ibook-G3 *httpS ! isn't working, so I have no chance to send mails or file
bugs. This behavior first time occurred in Edgy ( but not when using WLAN
instead of Ethernet to an internet-connected machine), as possible in Edgy
after installing BCM4318 .
