Finally, modifying the xorg.conf Virtual 2560 1024 to 2048 768 and setting the monitors resolution to 1024x768 did allow compositing to function, yay! However, the desktop was even more messed up than usual. The screen shot does not really do it justice. The terminal shown as spanning desktops showed up as entirely on the second desktop (one on the right) and the left 1/4 of it also showed up on the left deskop.
Since it sorta kinda worked with the virtural resolution of 2048 does that mean I'm out of luck for having two desktops at 1280x1024 with compositing? The card just can't handle it (seems pretty lame)? ** Attachment added: "broken_desktop3.jpg" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/20527778/broken_desktop3.jpg -- [RV280] ati driver corrupts second desktop with composite https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/293709 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
