Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nvidia-glx-177
If I scroll a long page in Firefox using the scroll bar on the right, (but usually not when using the space bar), the screen gets incompletely refreshed. Ironically, attempting to get a screen shot with Alt+PrtScr redraws the screen so the artefacts disappear. I managed to get a picture by using the delay function in the screenshot accessory, then scrolling just after clicking on the button. This is amd64 with the restricted nvidia driver, up-to-date Intrepid. I get these errors in Firefox (probably the only graphical program I use much -- it's mostly xterm and Emacs for me) and EOG for example, but wasn't able to get them in Thunderbird. vnix $ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 8.10 Release: 8.10 vnix$ apt-cache policy firefox firefox: Installed: 3.0.5+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.8.10.1 Candidate: 3.0.5+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.8.10.1 Version table: *** 3.0.5+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.8.10.1 0 500 http://fi.archive.ubuntu.com intrepid-updates/main Packages 500 http://security.ubuntu.com intrepid-security/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 3.0.3+nobinonly-0ubuntu2 0 500 http://fi.archive.ubuntu.com intrepid/main Packages vnix$ apt-cache policy nvidia-glx-177 nvidia-glx-177: Installed: 177.80-0ubuntu2 Candidate: 177.80-0ubuntu2 Version table: *** 177.80-0ubuntu2 0 500 http://fi.archive.ubuntu.com intrepid/restricted Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status Firefox was upgraded and restarted just now. ** Affects: nvidia-graphics-drivers-177 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Screen artefacts when scrolling https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/309295 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
