Public bug reported:
Wireless in Ubuntu 8.10 has worked fine until yesterday when I pushed
the button in the front of the laptop (just below the mousepad). After
that I can't log on to our wireless network anymore.
According to Hardware testing I have a "Broadcom Corporation BCM4318
[AirForce One 54g] 802.11g Wireless LAN Controller (rev 02)"
The Broadcom bm43x-driver is active according to
System->Administration->Hardware <somthing> ( I use the swedish ubuntu).
Different things seems to happen when I click the network-applet in the
tray since yesterday. Sometimes I don't see any wireless networks
althought there are at least 4 different with descent strength here.
Sometimes I do see my wireless network but when I click it, I can only
choose between three kinds of WEP and one LEAP encryption. My network is
WPA2 encrypted. Sometimes I have the option of picking WPA2 encryption
but after entering the password (I have doubled checked the password in
the router) and hitting enter, nothing happens.
Here is the output of
nm-tool
iwconfig
ping -c 4 google.com
ifconfig
netstat -r
sudo lshw -C network
lspci
