If it doesnt work is because of the permissions, try changing the
permissions and read the log file again, system log will let you see it.
As Shirish said it should use sudo and that's a known bug upstream:
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=126051 ; I'll change the
description of this bug and link to that one, thanks.
** Changed in: gnome-utils (Ubuntu)
Status: Incomplete => Triaged
** Also affects: gnome-utils via
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=126051
Importance: Unknown
Status: Unknown
** Summary changed:
- gnome-system-log tells /var/log/apt/term.log is not a log file
+ Logview shoud use sudo
** Description changed:
Binary package hint: gnome-utils
I tried to view /var/log/apt/term.log through System > Administration >
System Log . While it shows me all the logs shows if I try to see
/var/log/apt/term.log it says /var/log/apt/term.log is not a log file.
+
+ the problem is caused because of not having the right permissions to see
+ the files, gnome-system-log should use sudo for this.
