After some time working with my machine, the nm-applet disappears. When
I launch it via terminal the icon in the top bar reappears but gives the
following errors:
mich...@michael-laptop:~$ nm-applet
** (nm-applet:18107): WARNING **: nm_client_get_devices: error getting
devices: The name org.freedesktop.NetworkManager was not provided by any
.service files
** (nm-applet:18107): WARNING **: nm_client_get_devices: error getting devices:
The name org.freedesktop.NetworkManager was not provided by any .service files
(nm-connection-editor:18118): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_hash_table_foreach: assertion
`hash_table != NULL' failed
** Message: nm_connection_list_new: failed to load VPN plugins: Couldn't read
VPN .name files directory /etc/NetworkManager/VPN.
(nm-connection-editor:18118): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_widget_hide:
assertion `GTK_IS_WIDGET (widget)' failed
(nm-connection-editor:18118): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_widget_destroy:
assertion `GTK_IS_WIDGET (widget)' failed
** (nm-applet:18107): WARNING **: nm_client_get_devices: error getting
devices: The name org.freedesktop.NetworkManager was not provided by any
.service files
Additionally when I left click onto the nm-applet icon it just says
NetworkManager is not running...
although I am connected to the Internet (Firefox and Transmission still
work).
regards
Michael
