Wait a sec ... I just tried this on a Hardy machine and it didn't seem to
work. I has worked in the past. Looks like I am doing something wrong or
perhaps doing the change in the wrong file.

In any case,  character:  0x00000A71 (ੱ) is missing from Hardy. I think it
should be type using Shift+4.

Sorry for the confusion, but it appears to be a bit different in Hardy than
in my Debian machines.
