Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu. While we appreciate the difficulties you are facing, it would
appear that the CD image (ISO file) you downloaded could be corrupt or
the disk was burned with errors. I understand from your answers report
that the CD did install fine on a virtual machine, however I would
please ask that you try downloading and burning another copy of the ISO.
There is an easy way to verify the integrity of the Ubuntu ISO files you
download. Could you please visit
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HowToMD5SUM follow the instructions
after you download the file?

Then try burning the MD5 verified ISO, this time on a clean CD at your
CD burners slowest setting, with any error checking options enabled. If
the resulting disk still does not install, please report back here and
we can pursue further debugging options.

For future reference, it is appreciated if you would copy the relevant
details to the bug report directly in the description instead of linking
to the answer tracker. This provides more information for both launchpad
duplicate checking and the search functionality of launchpad, since a
lot of us only search bugs and not answers.

Thanks again!
