Public bug reported:
Since I upgraded from Hardy to Intrepid (3 months ago) I became not able
to automatically mount my external HDD usb 2.0 drive, a 80 GB COMPASS
HDD one.
In the last 3 mont I've updated my kernel 5 times: from 2.6.27-7 to
2.6.27-11 but every time I ddiidn't solved my issue.
But something different start from my last kernel update, Infact now
when I link my external HDD with the usb cable to the PC usb port, the
HDD still remain not automatically mounted but checking with the "gnome-
system-monitor" in the active tasks tabbed menu I can see a process in
"sleeping" state, named "usb-storage"...
If anyone could help me in solving this issue...I could be saved from
switching to windows for making backup my data into the external drive.
Best regards
Alessandro
