Public bug reported:

I went to
System -> Adminsistration -> printing ... (the graphical human stuff)
to change the Papersize from letter to a4. This works with applications like 
"Document Viewer" (i assume this is evince). However /etc/papersize is still 
set to letter. Applications like firefox (there already is a bugreport) an 
openoffice start printing my documents in a4, then suddenly switch to letter 
papersize and my printer rejects to print letter.
About 2 documents are printed correctly in a4, then the printer cries for 
letter-paper.

I live in Germany but my default ubuntu system language is english. I
assume some vars are not set correctly.
