Man, you saved my life! About the missing tar, actually, it was somehow corrupted, I just couldn't extract anything! So I tried to reinstall it (without success), to remove & reinstall it (what got me in this situation).
I wonder if there is any repair console, CD, script... That can just look for essential system component (like the tar for example) and restore / repair / install the missing ones. So I won't bother you if something similar happens again :D Well, this problem is solved thanks to C.
