Experiencing the same kind of behavior since update to 8.10. Having had
lots of frustrating crashes I can name the following symptoms:

- crash only happens when using with WPA2 encrypted wlan connections or Cisco 
VPN client
- occurs only when network is active
- for WPA2 the crashes happen more often when the connection is bad, all in all 
approximately 30% of all sessions
- for CISCO the system crashes every time, after 2 to 10 minutes of use

Interesting: VPNC client does not crash

My idea is that there is some big bug in the kernel concerning network
and encryption. Hopefully this will be resolved soon, since the wpa2
encrypted "eduroam" is kind of a european education standart.
