Similar problem with a HP dv2610us notebook, with synaptics touchpad. The touchpad sensitivity seems to go to a higher setting after wake-up from suspend. This doesn't happen after hibernation I noticed that the touchpad sensitivity is also higher before I login, at the login screen. I haven't been able to find any solution yet.
