Sound Card: Realtek ALC888S
Speakers: USB Powered Dell Speakers with green audio cable connected to
soundcard.
OS: Dual Boot Vista Home Edition / Ubuntu 8.10
Problem: There are no system sounds or sounds from internet content
like Youtube.com. CD's will not play audio. DVD's will play video but
no audio. I have read and tried at least ten different "solutions" from
the Ubuntu Forum but none of them seem to work. I do have system sounds
and internet sounds if I use Vista so I know that the hardware is
working correctly. This seems to be a Linux issue.
