Hi Makh! Just yesterday I solved the problem after 3 or 4 days trying several things. What I did was deactivate the driver (go to systems->administration->hardware drivers). After the driver is deactivated, go to the terminal and get into /etc/X11 and make a backup copy of the xorg.conf file; say xorg.conf.back, and delete the original file. Then type: sudo apt-get install nvidia-glx-177. After the install, do: sudo nvidia-xconfig and reboot. Once you are logged in, activate the driver again and that ought to do it. It did it for me. If you fail to login reboot on recovery mode, get a terminal line and get rid of the new xorg.conf file and reinstall the back up one giving it the original name.
