I can confirm this.
It is happening to me on a USB card reader after I plug it in. It doesn't get
recognized with or without any card inserted. Instead it will enter a loop
repeating this:

This output is from dmesg. It has been happening to me since Hardy, I've
upgraded to Intrepid and it didn't change.
