Having just deleted about 100 hours of work because of problem a) in the previous poster's comment, I have to agree, the current version of Gnome commander is VERY dangerous. I would go as far as suggesting that the current version (1.2.5) be removed from the Ubuntu repositories. I have tested 1.2.7 and the unpredictable file operations problem appears resolved. However, "delete" still DELETES rather than moving the file to trash, so be very careful, recovering files from ext3 is very difficult, time consuming and often produces disappointing results.
