As described in bug #234822 the necessary infrastructure is indeed available in Intrepid. Only the final and most important step of printerdriverautodownload is needed: the necessary binary Brother printer driver packages need to be hosted on the OpenPrinting web site for download.
So for now the DCP-7010 can only be installed manually using the brother drivers which are in the Ubuntu multiverse repository as described here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/BrotherDriverPackaging. The bug here is that plug 'n print detection should not match the DCP-7025 driver for your DCP-7010 printer, reassigning. ** Changed in: hal-cups-utils (Ubuntu) Sourcepackagename: cupsys => hal-cups-utils Status: Incomplete => Confirmed -- Brother DCP 7010 automatically detected, but proposed driver does not work https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/153295 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
