** Description changed: Binary package hint: i8kutils I would recommand that a file be added to /etc/event.d/ called i8kutils, when this packages is installed. If I added "/usr/bin/i8kmon -a -d" to start with xfce and then logout and log back in another instance of this program is launched and after I log back in and out a couple of times it adds up to a ton of memory used. With this i8kmon is started at system boot and if it crashes a new instance is started but it stays at only one instance. There are programs that can control i8kutils but they waste much more memory and alot of them can't be used in all Window Managers(or if use only the commandline). # i8kutils - Fan Control # # This service maintains i8kutils from the point the system is # started until it is shut down again. - start on runlevel-2 - start on runlevel-3 - stop on runlevel-4 - stop on runlevel-5 - + start on runlevel 2 + start on runlevel 3 + stop on runlevel 4 + stop on runlevel 5 stop on shutdown - respawn /usr/bin/i8kmon -a -d + respawn + exec /usr/bin/i8kmon -a -d
