I have a similar problem with OpenOffice versions 2.4 and 3.0. For me,
it's the font "Calibri" by Microsoft (The default font of newer Office
versions) which is acting up: the letter ö doesnt print. ä,ü,Ö,Ä,Ü all
print. I think the bug is in OpenOffice,  because other applications (I
tested gedit and Wine's Notepad) print the letter ö just fine. The font
Purisa by the way works fine for me.
