this issue also exists in intrepid with kernel 2.6.27-9-generic and it
is driving me crazy.
after i first installed my system everything was fine, i had sound out
of the box for a few weeks. then somewhere down the road it broke. i
cannot say what upgrade broke it, but upgrading to intrepid did not fix
it.
i tried alsa-driver-1.0.18a from source and also vanilla 2.6.27 -- no
success.
the mainboard is an intel essential DG33TL, acc. to specs:
- Intel 82801IR (ICH9R)
- IDT STAC9271D audio codec
