I have been using previous versions of of Kubuntu and did a fresh install of
Ibex from beta with 2.6.27-4 The most recent update is 2.6.27-9
I have two dm-crypt partitions - /home and swap. / and /boot are ext3
partitions.
On booting, the first password I need to enter is for swap (/dev/sda3).
When the root filesystem is checked, preceding the input for password for /home
(/dev/sda2), the output from the filesystem check prevents a password being
entered and as a result /home is not mounted, thus kdm is not able to open and
I need to reboot.
This only happens once every twenty boots, the time when the root
partition is checked.
To reproduce this you will need four (maybe three) partitions.
/ - ext3
/home - dm-crypt
swap - dm-crypt
/boot - ext3
I have an idea that this occurs with the kubuntu boot splash screen, as
previously 2.6.27-7 (I think) the bootsplash didn't work and I got text
only and no problems entering the password.
