I used to have this problem with my previous Intrepid installation (beta). I'm not sure what made the problem disappear, but perhaps it was the change of driver. Now this problem occurs on an installation which I made for someone else a couple of days ago. I have access (not instant) to the computer in question, if more information is needed, but I have to do a new installation there soon, because there's a problem with the video playback too (probably not related to this).
