In my case, this problem seems to be caused by an adverse interaction between Firefox 3.0.5 and NVIDIA video drivers. If I set my display resolution at 1152x864, the problem occurs as described above. But if I set my display resolution at 1280x1024, the problem disappears. While I can't be positive, I believe that this problem first cropped up after I installed and began experimenting the the CompizConfig 3D drivers.
I would add that this site's statement that this problem has nothing to do with Firefox is cavalier to say the least. I am unable to provoke this problem with any other applications (and I run many). -- MASTER The firefox window takes up all of the screen, impossible to reduce size and cannot access the close, reduce and clear screen options. The page also flickers when the mouse passes over certain areas of the screen. Firefox home page appears as a tiny page in the middle of the screen. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/276640 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
