Ah, I see.  I will install and test.  I am using Ubuntu (not Kubuntu).  Note
that in Edgy, the options are there (enabled), but do not work correctly
(suspend never wakes, hibernate works correctly _unless_ you enable suspend
when prompted by setting laptop-lid to suspend mode, then it stops
working).

When I saw them disabled, I assumed that this was an improvement (correctly
identified that it doesn't work), not as being a feature of the liveCD.  Is
there a way of testing suspend even in a livecd situation (forcing it?) just
to see if it can wake (whether or not it gets the CD working correctly again
is another issue).
