I have Compaq Presario f706la and Ubuntu 8.1
uname = 2.6.27-9-generic #1 SMP Thu Nov 20 22:15:32 UTC 2008 x86_64 GNU/Linux
...similar problem. When i try to turn on button doesn't respond, is complete
dead. Only way to turn on is:
1.- unplug power supply
2.- take off battery
3.- plug in power supply again
4.- Push turn on button, but starts a new sesion.
hibernate works fine.
