Please attach your /etc/network/interfaces file before and after changing from
DHCP to static.
Do you use different locations for DHCP and static settings? If so please
attach the files under ~/.gnome2/network-admin-locations/
What version of gnome-system-tools are you using? Run the following command
from a terminal:
$ apt-cache policy gnome-system-tools
** Changed in: ubuntu
