Thanks much. Your third link is a great one. I'm not at the office now - which is where the machine in question resides - but when I get back there on Monday morning I will give it a try. I've already logged in remotely and installed all the packages mentioned in that thread. Many were needed, and this may be the thing that fixes the world.
