UPDATE: This is a bug in the Ubuntu 8.3 FGLRX drivers. Installing
drivers from ATI resolves the issue.

** Changed in: xserver-xorg-driver-ati (Ubuntu)
Sourcepackagename: xorg => xserver-xorg-driver-ati

** Changed in: linux-restricted-modules-2.6.24 (Ubuntu)
Sourcepackagename: xserver-xorg-driver-ati => linux-restricted-modules-2.6.24

** Description changed:

- Binary package hint: xorg
+ Binary package hint: xorg CORRECTION: Its the xorg-driver-fglrx package

  Xine, Totem (both GStreamer & Xine backend), and MIRO play video files
  (mpgs, movs, dvds) in the incorrect width. The width is very narrow and
  can't be adjusted.

  VLC and MPlayer work fine.

  Interestingly, XINE splash starts in the "correct" ratio and then I
  assume reads a config file and changes abruptly to a narrow shape.

  Description:  Ubuntu 8.04.2
  Release:      8.04

  This is a fresh install of Hardy (all updates as of Jan 3rd, 2009) What
  files do you need to fix/diagnose this?
