I've tested what Andrew suggested but with less modifications: I only downgraded the gnome-session, the gnome-panel is intact. Now the gnome-session remeber what applications you have marked to save and where desktop they were. I did this by removing the gnome-session and installing the version that Andrew said (2.22.2-0ubuntu1.1). This '.deb' for download is here http://www.mediafire.com/?gyfdyamlznc (uploaded by me).
Thanks for all help! 2008/12/29 Andrew Whittaker <[email protected]> > As a temporary workaround I've downgraded gnome-session to > 2.22.1.1-0ubuntu2 and gnome-panel to 2.22.2-0ubuntu1.1.
