Of course. ldd shows libmtp.so.8 but for some reason, when I execute it
from a terminal window, I see an error that indicates that gnomad2 is
trying to load libmtp.so.8. If I install the libmtp7 from a previous
version of ubuntu, then the program will execute correctly.

I tried to rebuild the package in an intrepid chroot so that there was no
chance that libmtp7 would be installed and I have attached the log of that
process. You can see that it installs libmtp8 during the build. Desipte
this, when I installed this package, I had the same problem, failure due
to a missing libmtp.so.7. The only way I could get the program to execute
was to install the older library too. This was observed on a just
upgraded intrepid system. It is a very strange problem, I would be
interested to know if it appears on other intrepid systems. I generally
use Debian so I do not have other systems to check with right now.

HTH,

Carlo
