The knewsticker applet itself has been replaced by the RSS Now plasmoid in KDE
4.2 since knewsticker was horribly broken.
The help offered from the RSS Now config dialog points to the general Plasma
handbook, so technically it's not deceiving any more. That would be a separate
issue with kdeplasma-addons, anyhow. Since knewsticker is no longer maintained
this probably won't be fixed.
