Sorry, I forgot to mention that I used a lot of Edgy iso-s to test this issue: ubuntu-6.10-alternate-i386.iso, ubuntu-6.10-desktop-i386.iso, kubuntu-6.10-alternate-i386.iso and kubuntu-6.10-desktop-i386.iso
