Hi Leann, Sorry for replying so late. I have just seen your message. I can't install the 2.6.27-11 kernel because i'm on the live cd. (i can't install ubuntu because the live cd freezes. Installing the new kernel in a live cd has no effect, even if I make a persistent usb install, because the kernel is located in the casper directory, and i can't replace it because it has the special casper stuff in the initrd.
I have a log of what happened. what i did was make a persistent live usb, boot it in the problematic travelmate 3200. The problem still persists. After I booted the usb in another machine, and i get the logs that are in System, Administration, System log It seems that compiz crashes... ** Attachment added: "the log in System Log" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/20989956/log-acer-travelmate-3200.txt -- 2.6.24 kernel random freezes on acer laptop https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/236335 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
