Questions: 1. Is it the dvd-disc that works in another machine or the dvd-player? 2. Can you try another dvd-disc in the Linux machine's dvd-player? 3. Can you swap the players between the Windows machine and the Linux one?
Don't worry if you can't. It can be dangerous to mess around with hardware if you're not sure. Sometimes a player takes a dislike to a particular disc for no readily apparent reason while being quite happy with everything else. If you need to transfer the data over can you network the machines with a crossed cable or via a router or can you email from the Windows machine and receive it on the Linux one? ie - is your immediate goal a data-transfer issue or getting the whole system perfect? -- I insert a DVD which contains several pdfs, but the the File browser cannot display the contents of the DVD. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/312078 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
