I think I have the same/similiar problem;
I'm using Gigabyte GA-G33-DS3R. When using a E6750 CPU cpufreq is working, but
when using E8400 cpufreq is not working.
When trying to load acpi_cpufreq it can't be loaded with the error message No
such device.
