Public bug reported:

a) from the ubuntu CD on my desktop computer I used the option to make a USB
bootable ubuntu.
b) took this usb bootable memory stick to my laptop (which has a broken CD
drive) and booted up, ubuntu then comes up as a 'try it out without install'
and looks fine, I can open another USB memory stick on this without a problem,
all files and folders are displayed
c) then I clicked the 'install' option, things go fine and UBUNTU installs to
my laptop HD, but now this HD ubuntu install will NOT recognise any USB disk
contents, it sees the name of the USB memory stick but cannot open it up
(message "invalid mount option" etc).
d) why can't ubuntu get anything right! nothing ever seems to work, you get 99%
there and then there is always a glitch of some sort. and when help is offered
it is usually given in 100 lines of code that old fashioned windows users
simply don't understand.

NB latest ubuntu edition on their web site.
