Public bug reported:

This is not https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/280646
- gnome-power-manager is upgraded to 2.24.0-0ubuntu4, and I never use
numlock anyways. It sounds a lot like
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/198476 another
regression that was fixed.

Anyways, I'm using ubuntu-proposed as it has iwlagn upgrades, but
upgrading to 2.6.27-11 from 2.6.27-9 broke changing the LCD brightness.

When I boot into -9, I can update brightness with the Fn+Home/End keys
properly.

When I boot into -11, pressing the keys pops open the brightness OSD,
but it's very laggy, and it doesn't do anything to the screen.

When I go to /proc/acpi/video/VID/LCD0/brightness I can see that the
value is being modified, but the screen doesn't change at all.

T61 14.1" with GM965/GL960 chipset.
