I had similar issues with kubuntu 6.10 I rolled back to ubuntu 6.06 and found that my "innoDisk DU Card" now works fine.
But My newer larger EasyDisk still had a problem (be-it slightly different) it now refused to mount. Found that fdisk complained about the partition table being non standard.
