Dear Bryce, I just managed to install both Vista Premium 64-bit version and Ubuntu 8.10 64-bit version on the same hard drive. Plus XP Pro on another hard drive, I can now run all three OSs. I remember that even if I only installed Ubuntu 32-bit inside windows, the GRUB file would be modified, and I am really afraid that this will mess us Vista again. And it took me about four or five hours to reinstall both Vista and Ubuntu 64-bit versions and get all the updates. I am sure that you know Windows has A HELL LOT OF "UPDATES." Therefore, I regret to say that I have to rescind my previous words on reproducing the situation.
On the other hand, it should not be difficult to reproduce what I experience. Just pick a Windows XP Pro SP3 computer (I am sure there are a lot of them around), install Ubuntu 8.10 inside Windows, and change the screen resolution to something higher (which is on the drop down list) than the native resolution of the monitor connected to that computer.
