Btw, upstream is likely to want to know if this problem occurs with a
newer version of X and -intel. Perhaps the easiest way to check would
be to burn and boot a Jaunty alpha Live CD, which has newer versions of
both. You can get ISOs at http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/jaunty/
Upstream may also want to see the output of intel_reg_dumper from both a
failed (black) session (ssh into the box to get it), and from a good
session (e.g. when using i810). If anyone can obtain output from these
two cases, it may help upstream in narrowing down the problem.
