** Description changed:

- 1) Description: Ubuntu 8.10
- Release: 8.10
-
- 2)
-
- 3) X should run o.k. No fglrx related problems with ati drivers (Radeon
- Sapphire ATI HD260 PRO)
-
- 4) there is no graphical front end. I am used to that from time to time
- new kernel versions carry on this problems. Hopefully this will end one
- day.
+ I have not been able to get a graphical display since 2.6.27.8-generic. In
other words, I can not start a X sessions. The
+ problem is related to the appropriate ATI driver for 2.6.27-10 and *-11
kernels. Something seems not to be working. I am used to see this thing happen,
since I suffered a similar problem on 8.04. So, while booting, I choose to
continue working on 2.26.7-8 up to the point where the driver is compatible
with a new kernel version. It seems that this problem is inherent to ATI cards,
more than nvidia ones.
