Here is a newer dmesg with the hang point noted. It should also be noted that I have found that pulling the mouse receiver does not always unstick the boot; lately I have found that in a majority of (but not all) cases, simply waiting it out will cause the system to resume booting, though the timestamps in the dmesg do not indicate any sort of delay has happened.
I wonder, would it be productive to actually time this interval with a stopwatch or similar? Perhaps to identify if there's a timeout somewhere that eventually gets the boot moving again? ** Attachment added: "dmesg.log" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/21106042/dmesg.log -- Presario R3000 hang during boot with device connected to USB 2.0 port https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/296814 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
