Public bug reported: I'm running linux-image-2.6.19-7-generic, version 2.6.19-7.11, on my HP nx6125 amd64 laptop. With this kernel, the fans do not come on unless I do "acpi -t" periodically and the laptop could in principle suffer thermal failure. This is a regression from the Edgy kernel.
It looks like the Feisty kernel does not have the patch from comment #180 in http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5534 . As an aside, it would also be nice to have the patches from http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=7122 and http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=7570 applied; they enable the fans to work correctly after suspend/resume. ** Affects: linux-source-2.6.19 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Fan does not come on due to ACPI problems https://launchpad.net/bugs/75398 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
