Thanks. You need parcellite 0.9 though, because otherwise the clipboard contents still disappear when you close an application. It's still at 0.7 in the repositories. http://parcellite.sourceforge.net
To compile 0.9 you'll need at least build-tools, intltool, and libgtk2.0-dev.
