ok. i've upgraded my from hardy to intrepid. then i removed my openoffice 3.0.0 (no special ubuntu version), i added the intrepid package sources as described in https://launchpad.net/~openoffice-pkgs/+archive, and i installed the ubuntu version of openoffice, which is now version 3.0.1 (openoffice.org-core 1:3.0.1rc1.2ubuntu2intrepid1)
- in this version, the auto-recovery function seems to work properly. (in 3.0.0 it didn't!) - but still, when i'm working with a document in oo (i.e.: writer) and i shut down the computer (for example by clicking on the shutdown button and chosing shutdown), no message window of oo will appear and ask me, if i want to save the changes made to the document. i'm not sure, if this is an oo or an ubuntu problem. when i close oo (by clicking on the close-button), oo will warn me that there are changes to the document which are not already saved, an it will ask me to save them before the program will close. in my opinion, this should work in the same way, when i shut down the computer. ubuntu should incite oo to close, oo should ask me to save my changes - before closing and befor shutting down. greetings, armin Chris Cheney schrieb: > I want to make clear which version of OpenOffice.org I am using it is > 1:3.0.1~rc1-2ubuntu1 > -- OpenOffice 3.0 data loss after shutdown Ubuntu Hardy https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/315477 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
