Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: xorg
Random crash since I upgraded my PC and reinstalled with a 64 bits OS
(Ubuntu 8.10). The video card didn't changed and worked well before
(Ubuntu 8.10 32bits). Computer successfully tested with memtest86 and
cpuburn.
Hardware:
Motherboard: EVGA X58
CPU: Intel Core i7 920
RAM: 3x2gb DDR3
Graphics: EVGA GeForce 6200
When the crash occurs, keyboard and mouse are locked and the screen is
gray or is blank (no video signal). I can access the PC with SSH, so
the system is not completely crashed.
This bug occurs every about 2-4 days and always when I'm using the PC.
Very annoying.
System log is attached to the bug report.
