Do you still have this problem with the new version of OOo in the ppa at
https://launchpad.net/~openoffice-pkgs/+archive ?
I don't have any documents that are nearly that large to test with, if
you happen to have one with non-sensitive data that you can attach to
the launchpad bug report it would be helpful.
